The role also involves pressure testing, reading blueprints, estimating materials, coordinating with school principals, maintaining inventory, and performing preventive maintenance; after-hours emergencies may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency.
  • Certification/License: Valid Texas Master Plumber License; Valid Texas Driver's License; Insurable by FWISD.
  • Experience: Requires Texas Master Plumber license.
  • Additional Requirements: Employees must provide necessary personal tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, installs, maintains, and pressure tests pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems.
  • Detects needed repairs on buildings and equipment; determines sources of plumbing malfunctions and completes repairs.
  • Receives and completes work orders; estimates time and materials; maintains records.
  • Inspects jobs on completion and ensures areas are clean.
  • Leads training of apprentice plumbers; responds to emergency calls including after-hours.
