Job summary

Humana's CenterWell division is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and build platform and API services that connect AI capabilities, data systems, and product frontends.

You will lead backend architecture, establish security patterns for HIPAA compliance, and shape how services are built, secured, and operated across the team—while contributing to end-to-end product features using TypeScript and Next.js.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in CS, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering with backend and platform focus.
• Strong TypeScript and/or Python for API and service development.
• Proven experience building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of authentication, API security, and authorization design.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements for PHI security.
• Experience with Next.js and React for full-stack contributions.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLM tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead core backend services and API architectures.
• Establish security patterns including auth, rate-limiting, and auditing.
• Define patterns for AI capabilities integration into product APIs.
• Build observability, logging, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Contribute to end-to-end feature delivery from server to UI.
• Drive architecture reviews and engineering standards.
