Job summary

CSL in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Phlebotomy/Pheresis Technician to support plasma collection operations on-site. Under supervision, you will perform venipuncture, monitor pheresis, and ensure donor safety and product quality.

You will follow SOPs, document donor data, and respond to donor reactions while maintaining accurate records and complying with HSE/OSHA policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy training, with 18 months of medical experience preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Specialized phlebotomy/medical training preferred.
Minimum 18 months’ experience in a medical/health provider environment preferred, or equivalent education.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

Performs venipuncture and monitors pheresis procedures.
Follows SOPs for donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect.
Evaluates vein performance and expedites donation while ensuring safety.
Explains screening, health tests, appointment system, fees, center policies, nutrition to donors.
Monitors for donor reactions and assists staff as needed.
Uses PDA to document incidents, alarms, and donor events.
Performs equipment calibrations and addresses alarms.
Ensures accurate donor data recording in the information system.
Follows HSE and OSHA policies and procedures.
Monitors donor flow and alerts supervisor of issues.
