Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs in Hastings seeks a Plant Maintenance Engineer Lead (PME) for the day shift to oversee boilers, HVAC, and water systems at the Hastings Domiciliary. The role requires maintaining Boiler Chief Engineer Grade C and Class D Water Operator licenses and leading maintenance staff to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

Possess a current Minnesota Boiler Chief Engineer Grade C License.
Possess a Class D Water Operator License.
Ability to direct staff so that staff are able to follow instructions sufficient to carry out assignments in a safe and sufficient manner.
Knowledge of and skills in operating and maintaining low pressure boilers, air handling units, and associated equipment.
Skill in using hand and power tools and other trades equipment.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.

Responsibilities

Lead work duties and oversee maintenance and repairs of boilers, HVAC systems, water systems and mechanical equipment.
Maintain valid Minnesota Boiler Chief C Engineer license and Class D Water Operator license.
Oversee weekend/holiday boiler checks during the heating season.
Ensure safe and efficient operation of facility mechanical systems and coordinate with staff.
