Job summary

Upchurch is seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to lead all piping operations on commercial mechanical construction projects. The role requires coordinating field crews, ensuring installations meet specifications, and driving projects to successful completion with a hands-on leadership style.

The ideal candidate will have extensive piping experience, strong technical knowledge, and a proven ability to manage large-scale commercial projects while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in piping, pipefitting, or mechanical construction.
• 4+ years of supervisory or superintendent experience on commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical piping systems (hydronic, chilled water, steam, medical gas, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and project documents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all piping installation activities on commercial projects.
• Lead field crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure safety and schedule adherence.
• Interpret piping plans and project documents to ensure proper installation and system performance.
• Develop work plans and manpower strategies to maximize productivity and meet milestones.
• Coordinate material procurement and delivery with project teams and vendors.
• Maintain site safety, quality, and compliance with project standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to piping personnel.
