Job summary

Garney Construction invites applications for a Lead Pipelayer to direct and perform underground utility installations including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. You will guide crew operations, ensure proper procedures, and uphold safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years in underground utility or pipelaying work.
• 1+ year in lead or advanced pipelayer role preferred.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred or obtainable on hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew in trenching, laying, aligning, and joining pipes per plans.
• Interpret blueprints to ensure correct pipe placement and grade.
• Inspect joints and bedding to meet project specs.
• Communicate daily goals and assignments to crew.
• Operate or assist with trenching, lifting, and backfilling equipment.
• Monitor trench safety and compliance with standards.
• Report progress and material needs to foreman.
• Train new crew members.
