Job summary

Garney Construction in Centennial, CO is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our underground utility team. You will assemble, install and repair pipes for water, sewer and drainage projects, working with metal, PVC and concrete pipe on site.

You will read blueprints, mark trench lines, coordinate with equipment operators, and ensure proper jointing and leakage testing. This role requires two years of pipe-laying experience, overtime flexibility, and commitment to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, or storm drain.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications to determine work procedures.
• Must be able to stand for an entire day and perform assigned tasks.
• Willingness to complete Garney certifications (Rigging and Signaling, Confined Space, OSHA 10).
• Willingness to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the work area by directing trenching and grading.
• Perform laborer duties as required.
• Assist equipment operators in placement of pipe.
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals.
• Backfill around pipe using hand tools.
• Set up and work with pipe lasers and transits.
• Locate and mark pipe positions in underground trenches.
• Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and cement.
• Test pipes for leaks and perform cuts as needed.
