Job summary

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine seeks a motivated Physical Therapist to join our mission-driven orthopedic team in the Chicagoland area. You will provide evidence-based care to a diverse patient population, helping them return to activities they love.

You’ll collaborate with physicians, PTAs, OTs, and other professionals, supervise PTAs, and contribute to growth through ongoing education and adoption of advanced modalities, including Blood Flow Restriction therapy.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Illinois.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred).
• Board certification in Orthopedics or Sports Medicine (preferred).
• Experience with post-surgical patients and/or athletes (preferred).
• Familiarity with Epic Hyperspace EMR (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including goniometry, manual muscle testing, and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with patient goals and referring physician recommendations.
• Utilize interventions—including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy (Graston, Dry Needling, MDT, Mulligan techniques), and modalities to improve outcomes.
• Educate patients about their condition, home exercise program, and injury prevention strategies.
• Document patient progress in Epic Hyperspace, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Collaborate with physicians, PTAs, OTs, and other team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Supervise and mentor PTAs (1:1 ratio).
• Stay current with advancements in physical therapy through continuing education and professional development.
• Contribute to department growth and innovation, including Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) therapy.
