Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Lead Phlebotomist to orient and train new staff in phlebotomy, identify needed supplies, and coordinate with the Laboratory Supervisor to optimize workflow and specimen collection.

The role includes scheduling, patient registration entry, venipuncture, specimen labeling, and supporting the team with additional duties as assigned. Strong certification and leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Training: High School Diploma or GED with 3 years phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting; lead experience.
• Certification in Phlebotomy from a certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, NHA, etc.).
• Physical ability to perform required job duties as listed.

Responsibilities

• Orient and train new employees and students in phlebotomy policies and procedures.
• Identify supplies needed in phlebotomy and lab areas and coordinate with Laboratory Supervisor.
• Prioritize specimen collection by routine, timed, urgent or stat status to maintain workflow.
• Prepare work schedules for the phlebotomy team.
