Job summary

Option Care Health oversees pharmacy technician operations in the IV room and supervises staff, ensuring efficient, compliant processes. The role includes developing goals, scheduling, and staff development to meet patient care standards.

Responsibilities also cover aseptic preparation of IV admixtures, quality control in clean room environments, and adherence to state regulations, with opportunities for advanced practice as permitted by state law.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years of pharmacy technician experience, or 1 year of lead/supervisory experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• CSPT required within 12 months of hire if supervising.
• Must be licensed and/or registered (if required by state).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pharmacy technician operations in the IV room and supervise staff.
• Develop operational goals and track progress toward them.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and state regulations.
• Develop new policies and procedures.
• Identify staffing needs and manage technician schedules; interview and hire.
• Evaluate staff for promotions and provide training.
• Prepare aseptic IV admixtures, including chemotherapy.
• Maintain quality control for clean room, laminar flow hood, and related records.
• Function at an advanced practice level where allowed by state law.
