Job summary

Lumicera Health Services is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge at our Madison, WI facility. You will lead daily specialty mail pharmacy operations, oversee dispensing and RPh verification, and ensure cold-chain integrity while maintaining regulatory readiness.

Qualifications include a PharmD or BS degree, an active pharmacist license, 5+ years as a pharmacist, and 3+ years in leadership with direct reports. Relocation bonus offered and a weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of residence or reciprocity within 4 months.
• 5+ years as a licensed pharmacist.
• 3+ years in a leadership role with direct reports.
• 1+ year of experience as a Specialty Pharmacist preferred.
• Knowledge of REMS and Limited Distribution Products best practices.
• Knowledge of inventory control and state/federal pharmacy laws.
• 3+ years of experience managing specialty mail operations, cold-chain shipping, or LDPs preferred.
• Experience with URAC/ACHC accreditation and regulatory inspections preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma training or equivalent continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Multi-state licensure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily specialty mail pharmacy fulfillment operations, including dispensing, RPh verification, shipping, cold-chain handling, and delivery issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal/state pharmacy laws, accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC), HIPAA, and internal policies and SOPs.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, coaching, engagement and performance management for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
• Drive quality and safety programs: medication error prevention, incident reporting, CAPA, and continuous process improvement.
• Support inventory management for specialty drugs, limited distribution products (LDPs), REMS programs (as applicable), controlled substances (if applicable), and hazardous drugs handling.
• Maintain cold-chain integrity (refrigerated/frozen) and develop procedures for packing, shipping, temperature excursions, and returns.
• Monitor operational KPIs (turnaround time, accuracy, abandonment, delivery success, patient satisfaction, cost per script) and implement improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships (wholesalers, couriers/carriers, packaging/temperature monitoring providers) and negotiate service levels as needed.
• Prepare for and lead audits/inspections; maintain documentation, training records, and regulatory readiness at all times.
• Support implementation and optimization of pharmacy systems (PMS), workflow tools, e-prescribing interfaces, and reporting.
