Intuit seeks a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert to guide PTO initiatives and resolve the most complex payroll tax escalations. You will govern SOPs/KBs, coach teams, and drive workforce capacity while ensuring compliance across federal and state returns.

You will author critical procedures, mentor staff, and manage dashboards to reduce aging and backlogs. The role emphasizes ownership, accuracy, and data-driven decision making in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax with complex tax defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching/j training junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US tax regs, including local/state programs and notices.
• Strong writing skills to create/approve SOPs and technical docs.
• Ownership of SLAs and proactive removal of workflow barriers.
• Ability to propose vetted solutions and alternatives to leadership.
• 5+ years handling sensitive escalations with minimal guidance.
• Experience in high-volume call or back-office environments.
• Comfort with using AI tools to improve daily tasks.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the real-time go-to technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and train on resolutions.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions to close skill gaps.
• Lead or support team huddles and daily stand-ups when needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; suggest staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices across Federal and State levels.
• Approve complex amended Federal and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and compliance risks; communicate with stakeholders.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings; provide risk-informed options.
