Responsibilities

  • Issue parking tickets using an automated License Plate Recognition system.
  • Assure parking equipment is well maintained and operational.
  • Collect cash and credit card receipts from pay stations and exit gates.
  • Help set up the parking garage/lot for events to maximize spaces.
  • Assist with traffic flow for entry and exit during events.
  • Report accidents, safety hazards, or suspicious activities to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

The Lead Parking Enforcement Officer performs various functions relating to parking enforcement and garage operations. The Lead Parking Enforcement Officer issues parking tickets for violation of University Parking Policies. Facility/Garage supportive functions including customer service, collection of receipts, ensuring clean and presentable parking facilities, and performing basic maintenance on garage equipment. The Lead Parking Enforcement Officer will help with event parking in the University garages/lots to ensure smooth experience while maximizing parking spaces and minimizing congestion.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Issue parking tickets using an automated License Plate Recognition (LPR) system.
  • Assures all parking equipment is well maintained and operational.
  • Collects cash and credit card receipts from multiple pay stations in the University parking garage and exit gates.
  • Helps set up the parking garage/lot for events with cones and barricades to direct vehicles to maximize parking spaces.
  • Assist with the traffic flow for entry and exit for the events
  • Report any known accidents, safety hazards, maintenance repair, or any suspicious activities to supervisor or appropriate department.
  • Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience

  • Experience in parking operations, facilities management, or a university setting

Work Skills

  • Must be organized and detail-oriented with good customer service skills and a positive friendly approach and demeanor
  • Knowledge of using handheld tablets
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet and maintain VU driving privileges as outlined by Villanova Office of Risk Management’s “Policy for Drivers of University Vehicles”.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
  • Able to work in all weather conditions for long periods.
  • Tools, machinery, and equipment used: University vehicles, T2 Parking Equipment, including mobile fixed License Plate Readers (LPR), vehicle boot (immobilizer) hand tools needed to repair/replace T2 garage equipment.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods of time and ability to lift 50lbs.

Salary Posting Information

This position falls within hourly grade 9 and the range is $17.51-20.94/hr. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
