Qualifications

  • Currently licensed in the State of Michigan as a Paramedic.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver license with an acceptable driving record per MMR.
  • Obtain trauma certification (PHTLS or ITLS) within 6 months of employment; pediatrics (PEPP/PEARS/PALS) within 6 months; ACLS within 6 months; EMS Safety within 6 months.
  • Familiar with FEMA NIMS IC-100.b, 200.b, 700 & 800.b on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate ambulance to locations safely and in compliance with laws and standards.
  • Provide pre-hospital care and stabilize patients during transport.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment; prepare supplies to return unit to service promptly.
  • Communicate with medical controls and receiving facilities; document patient observations and treatment.
