Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Graduate of approved operating room course for surgical technologist.
• CPR Certification; NSAA/CSA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients’ surgical needs and prepares the OR.
• Sets up back table with instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to universal precautions.
• Counts instruments, sponges, and sharps per policy.
• Supports nurses and surgeons to ensure patient safety.
• Trains and mentors staff in specialty areas.
• Oversight of instrument trays and surgeon preference cards.
