Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist Lead to join the Operating Room team. This role assists the surgeon and registered nurse, maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patients undergoing surgery.

The Lead role includes oversight of instrument trays, patient positioning, and adherence to sterile technique. The position requires current CPR certification and completion of an approved surgical technologist program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited operating room technology program.
• CPR certification and eligible or certified per NSAA/CSA or National Board Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients' surgical needs and supports the OR team.
• Sets up surgical back table with instrumentation, supplies and drapes.
• Ensures sterile technique and proper instrument counts; maintains universal precautions.
• Preps and drapes patient and maintains sterile field during procedures.
• Assists in maintaining cost efficiency by managing OR supplies and equipment.
