Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist Lead to assist in the Operating Room, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons and nurses throughout procedures. The Lead role includes overseeing instrument trays, managing surgeon preference cards, training staff, and coordinating perioperative care to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Graduate of approved operating room course for surgical technologist.
• CPR Certification; NSAA CSA certification; National Board Surgical Technology certification.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients’ surgical needs.
• Sets up surgical back table with instrumentation, supplies and drapes.
• Uses PPE in handling instruments and maintains sterile field.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to infection control policies.
• Trains new staff and oversees instrument trays for specialty cases.
