Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Graduate of approved operating room course for surgical technologist.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients’ surgical needs.
• Sets up surgical back table with instrumentation, supplies and drapes for specified procedure.
• Utilizes surgeon preference cards with circulating nurse to pull surgical cases.
• Provides proper and accurate instrument, sponge and sharp counts as prescribed by policy.
• Maintains universal precautions and sterile field; ensures proper counts and handling of instruments.
