Job summary

AbbVie in the United States is seeking an experienced clinical development leader to guide one or more complex programs from design through regulatory submission. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across medical, regulatory and operations to deliver high-quality clinical data that informs strategy.

The role requires extensive trial experience, strong leadership, and excellent English communication. Expect to work on multiple programs with global scope in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the sciences; advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant clinical trial experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
• Ability to run a complex clinical research program independently.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to bring out the best in others on a cross-functional global team.
• Ability to interact externally and internally to support a global scientific and business strategy.
• Extensive knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and compliance requirements governing clinical trials and experience in development of clinical strategy and the design of study protocols.
• Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to exercise judgment and address complex problems and create solutions for one or more projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads and demonstrates ownership of the design and implementation of multiple clinical development programs.
• Oversees project-related education of investigators and study site personnel.
• May lead clinical study teams and ensure study enrollment and timelines.
• Owns design, analysis, interpretation and reporting of study documents and regulatory submissions.
• May supervise scientific directors and report staff where applicable.
• Participates in governance forums and cross-functional teams and strategic plans.
• Collaborates with Medical Affairs, Commercial and other functions to align perspectives.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge through conferences and literature.
