Job summary

Cox Fleet in Columbus, GA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose complex systems, triage issues, and act as a lead on jobsites, communicating with customers and the support team to ensure high levels of service.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, 3+ years in a related field (or 5 years with alternative qualifications), and experience with

Qualifications

• 3 years’ related field experience, or equivalent with higher degree/certification
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
• OEM training and certifications are preferred
• Participate in and complete all-in company required training
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and medical/DOT requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment
• Diagnose, repair, and test electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems
• Inspect, test, and document findings using RO forms and TRAIT app
• Independently manage parts inventory and service truck
• Communicate with clients and management to obtain approvals on repairs
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety policies
