Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and triage issues, and collaborate with customers as a leading technician on site.

Responsibilities include managing parts on a service truck, documenting RO findings via TRAIT app, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Prior experience with refrigerated equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field or 5 years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA training or certification preferred.
• Willingness to complete DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs; document findings in RO via TRAIT app.
• Independently manage parts inventory and service truck; conduct safety checks and post-trip inspections.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations.
