Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for the Observability Platform within Enterprise Technology. You will architect and scale telemetry pipelines across multiple clouds, delivering logs, metrics, and traces with high performance and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, drive OpenTelemetry adoption, and collaborate with SRE and platform teams to define reliability standards and end-to-end monitoring.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core observability platform services using Go, Python, Java (Spring Boot).
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry, including client libraries and instrumentation patterns.
• Architect and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
• Develop self-service observability capabilities for onboarding and troubleshooting.
• Implement end-to-end monitoring and define SLOs, health checks, and alerting.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Cloud teams to establish reliability standards.
• Mentor engineers through reviews, architectural guidance, and cross-team collaboration.
• Automate workflows and improve platform automation.
• Ensure secure telemetry pipelines with mTLS and secrets management.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and best practices.
• Engage with engineering teams to influence roadmap and deliver improvements.
