Responsibilities

• Provides training and mentorship to Surgery Schedulers within the department and serves as a resource for complex scheduling accounts.
• Verifies current orders, authorization numbers, patient history and physicals, and test results in a timely manner.
• Builds strong working relationships with surgeons, leadership, OR staff, and scheduling personnel; acts as liaison between departments.
• Assesses skills and learning needs for new hires and existing staff; supports education within the area.
• Continuously reviews scheduling processes and identifies reasons for cancellations to propose improvements.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles scheduling with minimal supervision in stressful situations.
