Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the New Product Introduction (NPI) team. You will lead the transfer from prototype to full-scale production, influence cross‑functional teams, and develop tooling and efficient manufacturing processes for aerospace programs.

The role emphasizes DFx collaboration, PFMEA/MSA development, lean initiatives, and mentorship of junior engineers within a dynamic, compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD software
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
• US Citizen

Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction of new products from prototype design to full-scale production for medium to large scope programs.
• Influence integrated project teams and larger teams.
• Design assembly tooling and fixtures using CAD software.
• Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Conduct process flow and capacity analyses to ensure optimal production rates.
• Develop process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
• Collaborate with design engineering to refine product designs for manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Lead new product process improvement initiatives.
