Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace unit seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Minnesota. The role focuses on collaborating with design and DFx efforts, developing processes, tooling, and lean initiatives to bring new products from prototype to production.

The position emphasizes PFMEA/MSA development, manufacturability refinements, and leadership of cross-functional teams. Onsite role with extensive interaction across engineering and manufacturing disciplines.

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in CAD software.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Experience with PPAP and APQP methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead the introduction of new products from prototype design to full-scale production for medium to large scope programs.
Influence integrated project teams and larger teams.
Design assembly tooling and fixtures using CAD software.
Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Conduct process flow and capacity analyses to ensure optimal production rates.
Develop PFMEA and MSA.
Collaborate with design engineering to refine product designs for manufacturability.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Mentor junior engineers.
Lead new product process improvement initiatives.
