Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to lead transport, SD-WAN, and firewall operations, ensuring real-time network performance and adherence to standards. You will direct incident response, coordinate across teams, and provide leadership to improve playbooks and SOPs while maintaining SLA expectations.

Requires TS clearance and a strong IT background with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II credentials. A BS with extensive experience or a Master’s degree is expected, with additional industry

Qualifications

• Requires a current Top Secret security clearance.
• BS degree with 8+ years of prior relevant IT experience or Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant IT experience.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification and a DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Certifications such as ITIL v4 Managing Professional, CISSP, CCNP Enterprise/Security, or PCNSE are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the operational authority for all network transport, SD-WAN, and firewall services, overseeing day to day service delivery and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
• Acts as the primary Incident Commander during major Incidents affecting network services, directing the activities of all technical response teams and orchestrating the overall service restoration effort.
• Provides authoritative operational status, mission impact assessments, and situational reports to government leadership during network service disruptions.
• Owns, maintains, and refines the operational playbooks, SOPs, and incident response procedures for the transport, SD-WAN, and firewall operations teams.
• Oversees the Problem Management process for network services, ensuring root cause analyses and remediation plans are tracked to completion.
• Represents operational interests in the Change Advisory Board process, assessing operational risk of proposed changes to network and security infrastructure.
• Manages, monitors, and reports on network SLA performance related to transport availability, SD-WAN performance, and firewall uptime.
