Job summary

Coinbase is hiring an Infrastructure Lead for the Exchange team within Institutional. You will own the network infrastructure, deployment, and operational tooling behind a unified trading platform spanning cloud and on-prem environments.

You will design low-latency networks, lead incident response, and mentor engineers while partnering with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading-system teams to improve reliability and developer velocity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP/OSPF/VRFs and low-latency data-center switching.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and network automation with Python/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure for institutional trading across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and market-data architectures using standard protocols.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Drive observability and automation using SNMP, gRPC telemetry, and Python/Ansible.
