Job summary

Saab, Inc. in Grayling, MI is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily munitions assembly operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.

You will communicate objectives, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement while promoting Saab’s values and fostering a high-performing team. The ideal candidate has five years in munitions manufacturing with supervisory experience, plus a related degree.

Qualifications

• Five years in a munitions manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Five years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production environment
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in advanced manufacturing, Aeronautics, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with MES and ERP systems preferred
• Strong collaboration across departments to achieve goals
• Proven leadership with ability to motivate teams and build relationships
• Flexibility to work varying schedules including overtime or alternate shifts
• Excellent verbal and written communication with teamwork
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Supervise munitions assembly operations to meet production schedules and quality standards
• Communicate daily production objectives and performance expectations to the team
• Monitor production activities and provide regular updates to management
• Promote Saab core values and foster a positive team culture
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members through training and feedback
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and workplace rules
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
• Oversee timekeeping and attendance for production staff
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize performance
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
