Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is seeking a Product Development Engineer - Motorsports Accessories in Kennesaw, GA. You will lead end‑to‑end design and development of performance components, from concept through production release, with hands‑on prototyping and close collaboration with manufacturing.

The role requires 6–10 years of mechanical design experience, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/NX), GD&T, FEA, and PDM release management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 6–10 years of progressive mechanical design experience through production release.
• Experience in motorsports, powersports, automotive, or high‑performance systems is preferred.
• Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks and NX; GD&T knowledge per ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
• FEA knowledge and ability to interpret results for design decisions.
• Experience with PDM systems (SolidWorks PDM) and release management.
• Familiarity with project management tools (Smartsheet, Asana) and Stage Gate framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design and development of motorsports accessories from concept to production release.
• Serve as technical owner for components or subsystems; drive design decisions and cost targets.
• Collaborate with test teams to validate performance, durability, and production readiness.
• Analyze test data, identify risks, and drive design iterations or mitigations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing to support prototypes and builds.
• Support manufacturing readiness through design reviews and tolerance analyses.
• Align engineering activities with Product Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Testing.
