Job summary

The Davis Companies Inc. is seeking a Lead Mold Maker in Central Massachusetts to own hands-on mold construction, repair, and optimization in a fast-paced tooling team.

You will diagnose tooling issues, lead maintenance programs, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality to improve OEE and mold life. This role offers technical leadership without people management and opportunities to expand in-house capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of hands-on mold making, tool & die, or injection molding tooling experience.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.
• Proficient in CNC machining, EDM, milling, grinding, and precision tooling.
• Experience with tooling maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain injection molds.
• Diagnose tooling issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Lead mold design reviews and DFMs for new tooling projects.
• Support mold validation, qualification, and NPI efforts.
• Mentor other tooling team members and reduce downtime.
