Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Application Development Lead to drive design, delivery and modernization of technology-enabled applications across platforms.

You will partner with solution architects, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, scalable and resilient solutions while managing multiple initiatives in parallel. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication skills, and a track record of delivering on schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation or Business; experience may substitute for degree (Required)
• Master's Degree (preferred) or substitution allowed
• 5+ years in application development or technology management (Required)
• MS-SQL/SSIS-SSRS Expert (Required)
• Warehouse Management Systems Advanced (Required)
• C#/.Net/ASP Beginner (Required)
• Web Services/API Beginner (Required)
• Manhattan SCALE / SCI Intermediate (Preferred)
• Integration Software using ANSI X12, XML, and Database Tables Intermediate (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of technology products and applications using modern patterns
• Coordinate systems installation and software testing across teams
• Drive modernization and remediation of technical debt
• Perform root-cause analysis to isolate and resolve issues
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security to design scalable platforms
• Ensure capacity planning, performance tuning, failover and recovery
• Promote cloud-native architectures, containerization and platform engineering
• Oversee environment strategy (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) for consistency and governance
• Maintain observability and proactive performance management
• Collaborate on disaster recovery and business continuity testing and validation
• Incorporate security standards, patching and vulnerability remediation
• Support cost optimization through efficient resource use and architecture
