Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Modem SOC Design Engineer to lead RTL design for the modem system-on-chip and its subsystems. You will define microarchitecture from satellite communication specs and align design decisions across architecture, software, and FPGA prototyping teams.

The role requires extensive experience in ASIC/SOC RTL design, ARM compute subsystems, and high-speed interfaces. We offer a strong engineering culture and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in digital ASIC or SOC RTL design.
• Experience defining microarchitecture for modem or communication SOC blocks.
• Experience with Arm compute subsystem design, AXI interconnect, and SRAM controllers.
• Experience with LPDDR4/5/6 memory interfaces.
• Experience with high-speed Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
• Experience with SOC-level integration (bus fabric, clock, reset).
• Experience with debug subsystems using Arm CoreSight.

Responsibilities

• Lead RTL design in Verilog or SystemVerilog for the modem SOC and subsystems.
• Define microarchitecture from system specs and performance requirements.
• Develop Arm compute subsystem logic and AXI interconnect integration.
• Integrate debug subsystem components using Arm CoreSight and trace infrastructure.
• Drive SOC-level integration including clock, reset, and GPIO subsystems.
• Serve as technical interface among system, SOC, software architecture teams.
• Collaborate with performance modeling and FPGA prototyping teams.
