Job summary

Affirm is hiring for a senior mobile-focused architect who will set the technical strategy for the App Infrastructure team. You will collaborate across product, design, and analytics to ensure sustainable platforms and manage risk.

You will own operations, on-call readiness, and code quality standards while mentoring engineers in a fast-moving, remote-first environment. The role requires deep expertise in React Native, Expo, and modern JS/TS tooling, with a track record of delivering major

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, 4+ with React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native SDK work.
• Experience with complex state management in a React app; Redux Toolkit a bonus.
• Able to debug JS-native boundaries and stay current with native OS changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for global team collaboration.
• Equivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a yearly horizon and align it with business impact.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure sustainable architecture and trade-offs.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring, on-call rotations, playbooks, and testing.
• Establish code review and design standards and promote them across teams via writing and talks.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and example.
