Job summary

Hard Rock Digital is seeking a Principal Mobile Engineer to lead the Casino mobile domain. You will own architecture, drive design decisions, and partner with Product, Design, QA, and Backend to deliver a high-performance React Native app for iOS and Android.

You will mentor engineers, promote observability, and guide multi-quarter architectural initiatives. The role emphasizes regulatory awareness in igaming, native mobile expertise, and the adoption of AI-assisted workflows to boost

Qualifications

10+ years of mobile app development (native and hybrid).
7+ years with React Native.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in React Native architecture using TypeScript in strict mode.
MobX client state and TanStack React Query server state mastery.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflow.
Real-time mobile systems design using REST, WebSockets and GraphQL.
Native iOS (Swift/Obj-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) experience.
Experience in igaming/sportsbook/online gaming with regulatory constraints.
Multi-variant apps with feature flags (LaunchDarkly) in a single codebase.
Design system creation, legacy migration strategies, and CI/CD for app stores.

Responsibilities

Lead frontend technical direction of Casino Tech, aligning with mobile platform standards.
Collaborate with peers to define shared engineering standards and conventions.
Own architecture and evolution of casino-domain features in a high-performance React Native app.
Develop and improve a high-performance React Native app for iOS and Android.
Drive multi-quarter initiatives: migration, modernization, build infra improvements.
Mentor senior and staff engineers through architectural guidance and code reviews.
Shape roadmaps with product/design/QA/backend partners; advise build-vs-buy decisions.
Champion AI-assisted development workflows across the mobile team.
Navigate regulatory constraints while maintaining architectural efficiency.
Lead incident response and drive systemic improvements from root causes.
Promote observability through analytics, errors, and performance monitoring.
Contribute to cross-unit forums on platform-wide decisions.
Adopt state-of-the-art tech to optimize delivery and developer productivity.
Foster a culture of quality, pragmatism, and continuous improvement.
