Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Microelectronics Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer to join the Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Engineering Team in Baltimore/Elkridge, MD.

This 2nd shift role focuses on designing and refining manufacturing processes for SMT routing and automated production, ensuring high quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will lead process development, troubleshoot equipment, analyze data, and collaborate with design and system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD path as stated.
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications, parts lists, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work 2nd shift and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes related to SMT routing and manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and support complex manufacturing equipment.
• Analyze manufacturing data and drive process control improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Support operators and technicians with troubleshooting and training.
• Monitor yields and maintain program yield targets.
• Report yield issues and root causes in program meetings.
• Interface with manufacturing management, engineers, and program teams.
