Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Engineering Team in Baltimore/Elkridge, MD seeks a Principal Microelectronics Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer 3 to join our team. This role focuses on designing and refining manufacturing processes for SMT routing and equipment, ensuring high-quality production in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ with a Master’s) and the ability to obtain a security clearance, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• PhD in mechanical engineering or related STEM field qualifies for 0 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SMT routing and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and support complex manufacturing equipment.
• Analyze manufacturing data for process control and yield improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and solutions.
• Provide training and support to operators and technicians.
• Monitor yields and maintain program targets.
• Report root causes and corrective actions in program meetings.
• Interface with management, engineers, and program teams.
