Job summary

Suffolk is seeking an MEP Project Manager - Advanced Manufacturing to lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection efforts from bid through commissioning. You will manage sub-contractors, review requisitions, change orders, and close-out documentation while coordinating with BIM/VDC and the A/E team to keep schedule and quality on track.

Ideal candidates hold a technical engineering degree with 5+ years in MEP for manufacturing, plus 2+ years of PM experience, and a strong command

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (technical/engineering degree) Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire protection
• Minimum 5+ years experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems in the Advanced Manufacturing space
• Minimum of 2+ years of project management experience
• Strong computer skills are required i.e. MS Excel, Word, Outlook
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications
• Complete understanding of BIM/VDC coordination including various hit detection programs
• Knowledge of Local, City, State, and International building codes for the location of the project
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and LEED requirements
• Extensive knowledge of testing and balancing and commissioning practices
• Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately
• Ability to communicate at all levels

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical bid tabs as well as exhibit B in contract
• Interview and select sub-contractors for each project
• Day-to-day management of MEP sub-contractors
• Review and approve MEP monthly requisitions
• Review and approve MEP change orders
• Site walks to ensure work progresses on schedule and update schedules
• Coordinate with BIM/VDC and Superintendent to maintain schedule
• Work with A/E team to develop solutions to coordination items
• Review all MEP submittals
• Obtain documentation from inspections and testing
• Oversee the MEP & FP contractor and the Commissioning agent
• Coordinate owner third-party MEP contractors or testing agencies
• Obtain mechanical close-out documentation; as-builts, attic stock and O&Ms
• Coordinate multi-trade portions of the project
