Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related discipline with 5+ years of coding experience, including 2+ years in a lead role.
• Equivalent related work experience may substitute the education requirement.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) upon hire.
• Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P) upon hire.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coding operations to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Lead and mentor a team of certified coders, promoting best practices.
• Coordinate provider coding audits and education to document findings clearly.
• Develop and implement guidelines, procedures, and training for regulatory compliance.
• Escalate compliance risks and consult with providers and business staff on complex coding issues.
