Responsibilities

Medical Support Duties

• Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, phlebotomy, pulmonary tests, audiogram, respirator fit testing)
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments
• Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by clinicians and triage emergent patients
• Assist with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply bandages, dressings, splints as ordered
• Dispense medications and DME per regulations
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and clean rooms
• Operate and calibrate medical devices, record keeping
• Notify leadership of equipment issues or supply needs
• Support patient flow and keep patients informed about wait times
• Handle clerical tasks related to patient care and documentation
• Cross-train for Patient Service Specialist duties
• Follow HIPAA and safety guidelines
• Participate in staff meetings and training
• Maintain facility appearance
• Perform Human Performance Evaluations as directed

Lead Duties

• Assign duties and monitor patient flow
• Maintain medical equipment and facilitate maintenance
• Ensure testing and treatment safety and quality
• Manage supplies, medications, and equipment stock
• Assist with clinical competency training for staff

Qualifications

Education: Vocational/Technical/Business School; Medical Assistant Certification or Military Medical Specialist with current credentials

• Drug Screen, Breath Alcohol, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection Certifications

Experience: At least six months of medical assistant experience; knowledge of procedures and terminology; occupational medicine knowledge preferred
