Job Details

The Medical Assistant assists physicians as they assess, examine, and treat patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vitals.
• Act as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Maintain and order supplies, interact with co-workers and visitors, escort patients, and ensure proper identification.
• Perform and document vital signs, clinical care measures, and medical history.
• Stay proficient with IT systems and documentation requirements within scope of practice.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures, including EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and support smooth operations.

Minimum Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; American Heart Association preferred, Red Cross acceptable in some locations.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with at least 330 hours of instruction, including injections training.
• For internal Einstein applicants: Current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role prior to 7/1/2024 with transfer eligibility.
