The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants within their office by mentoring, training, and leading day-to-day operations. In addition to their Lead duties, they may also perform standard MA functions such as assisting patients and performing various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vitals.

Job Description

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
3. Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Education & Experience:

1. HS Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Medical Assistant Certification required.
3. BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
4. Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
5. For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
6. For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a current Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024 when transferring within Einstein entities.
