Job description

SUMMARY:

Provide support to students including maintaining health records, basic health care, assisting with Behavioral Health scheduling and record keeping. The primary role is to ensure the immediate well-being of students while communicating with the medical director and/or Departmental Psychologist.

This office is fast-paced and requires employees to work both front and back-end positions. The ideal candidate will be committed to being there daily, ambitious, a self-starter, team player, and ready to handle any situation.

LEAD CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT:

Capable of training injections and sharing policy and procedure changes with teammates, assisting them with implementing them into their workload daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
STUDENT HEALTH
  • Process new student medical packets for the Medical, Graduate, and PA Schools.
  • Administer and record keeping of annual FLU Shot and FIT Testing requirements.
  • Manage daily Vaccine Inventory.
  • Train medical and nursing students for assistance in FLU and Fit Testing clinics.
  • Validate Medical records for students entering clinical rotations.
  • Draw up and administer vaccinations.
  • Handle patient calls and relay information to physicians through the Medicat EMR system.
  • Prepare exam rooms and scan patient correspondence into EMR.
  • Maintain office and medical supply inventory, stock exam rooms, and handle mail.
  • Communicate with staff and perform other duties as assigned, adhering to compliance standards.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH
  • Administer and record annual FLU Shots and PPD/TB Gold Tests for new hires.
  • Collaborate with departments as needed, answer phones, and maintain supplies and mail.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
  • Check-in patients, verify paperwork, and schedule appointments via EMR system.
  • Prepare and assist with patient visits, document in EMR, and handle correspondence.
  • Assist Psychologist with patient care and manage patient charts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Certification from an accredited medical assistant program required.
  • Knowledge of computers and medical terminology preferred.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred, especially in Student Health.
  • Flexible to work evenings and experienced with electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and independent work skills required.
Contract Length:

13 weeks, with possible extensions and temp-to-perm opportunities.
