Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director who is an expert mechanistic modeler and quantitative drug developer. You will independently design model analysis plans and apply PK/PD, PBPK, QSP, or related mechanistic models to inform translational decisions in immunology.

You will collaborate across functional teams and with external vendors, presenting data clearly and driving model-based strategies for dose selection, trial design, and go/no-go decisions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience; PharmD or equivalent degree with at least 6 years; or MS with at least 8 years.
• Educational background in biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacometrics, mathematics, statistics/biostatistics, computational biology/chemistry, or engineering.
• Hands-on PK/PKPD/QSP modeling using standard pharmacometric software (Phoenix, R, Matlab, NONMEM, Monolix).
• Advanced skills in experimental design, mathematical problem solving and data interpretation.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute model analysis plans informing translational questions in immunology.
• Develop and implement translational PK/PD strategies and conduct clinical trial simulations.
• Inform dose selection, schedule, and go/no-go decisions using model-based analyses.
