Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Assembly Technician in Devens, MA to oversee small technician teams and guide assembly of the SPARC tokamak. You’ll manage day-to-day work orders, align large electromagnetic coils, vacuum vessels, and diagnostic systems, coordinating with engineers and quality groups to ensure timely, high-quality builds.

This role requires 7+ years in technical assembly, experience leading a team, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years in a highly technical assembly role (aerospace/semiconductor/oil & gas/power plants, etc.).
• 2–3 years of team supervision or lead experience with five or more people.
• Experience delivering large-scale projects end-to-end and assisting lifting operations.
• Highly safety-conscious with ability to work on-site around heavy components.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activity management and coordination of technician teams.
• Review work orders for mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks.
• Participate in major on-site operations and component lifts.
• Provide daily status updates and ensure timely completion per schedule.
• Coordinate with engineers, metrology, quality, and external teams to resolve issues.
