Job summary

BD is seeking a Maintenance/Setup technician at its USA NE - Columbus location to setup, change over, improve and maintain production equipment while meeting quality standards. The role includes on-the-floor leadership, training operators, and adhering to BD quality systems and safety regulations.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, with an Associate’s degree preferred in a mechanical field, and proven mechanical skills with trouble shooting and hands-on work.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills/education/background required.
• Experience with maintaining production equipment preferred.
• Strong problem solving and manual dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Perform changeovers and set up equipment correctly.
• Keep equipment in good repair to meet production and quality standards.
• Generate accurate maintenance records and other required logs.
• Ensure machine cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
• Provide coverage when others are absent.
• Assist operators during breaks and on the floor.
• Lead and participate in scheduling, process improvement and safety efforts.
• Work safely with chemicals and maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow management requests and BD policies.
• May work in clean room environments and follow GMP rules.
• Support business needs with other duties as assigned.
