Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Pipe Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for mechanical pipe scopes across multiple divisions in our Heavy Civil market sectors.

The role involves preparing detailed estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing plans and P&IDs, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure competitive bids and robust proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 3–10 years experience managing or estimating below/above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
• Experience estimating construction costs for below/above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
• Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices and industry standards.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize resources.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-perform production knowledge.
• Quantity survey experience.
• Proficient knowledge of estimating software.
• Experience representing company with industry and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Estimate construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for material and equipment for process piping systems and associated process equipment.
• Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs using historical data, industry trend and estimating software.
• Review plans, specifications, proposals and P&IDs to fully understand project scope, requirements and conditions.
• Solicit and review pricing for materials, equipment and specialized subcontractors.
• Assist in the preparation of thorough, clearly structured, and detailed estimates and proposals for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
