Job summary

TCOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Packaging Engineer Lead to lead a team of mechanical engineers in the design, production support and test of electrical/electronic systems for lighter-than-air vehicles and their ground support facilities.

The successful candidate will have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least ten years of engineering experience, with packaging design experience for aviation environments; strong analytical, communication and leadership skills; travel to North

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least ten years of engineering experience; advanced degree may substitute.
• Ability to create production-level engineering documentation.
• Ability to integrate and support in manufacturing for 1st article builds.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills for interfacing with senior management and customers.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers in the design of lightweight electrical assemblies for avionics enclosures.
• Perform structural and thermal testing analyses on designs.
• Define mechanical design requirements with electrical engineers and develop packaging concepts.
• Develop layouts and detailed drawings for manufacturing.
• Ensure designs meet company manufacturing standards and capabilities; coordinate with management on resources and costs.
• Lead design reviews and communicate progress to stakeholders.
