Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop packaging solutions for flight avionics and integrate them with launch vehicle structures. You will collaborate with avionics, structures, and production teams to iterate on design and ensure robust hardware for qualification and flight.

You will perform thermal and structural analyses, lead design reviews, and drive manufacturing-ready solutions to meet aggressive launch targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional mechanical/electromechanical design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency with parametric 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through design, analysis, manufacturing and test.
• Working knowledge of structural and thermal analysis fundamentals (hand calcs/FEA).
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, manufacture, and test packaging for flight avionics, electronics, and electro-mechanical actuators.
• Design, manufacture, analyze, and integrate harness routing and secondary structure; create CAD models and drawings.
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis for electro-mechanical assemblies (hand calcs/FEA).
• Conduct failure analysis related to thermal, loads, vibration and shock.
• Interface with machine shops and production teams to implement manufacturing best practices.
