Job summary

Roseburg Forest Products is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the Mechanical Maintenance Department in our Oregon facility. You will lead and train staff, schedule preventive maintenance, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and collaboration with other departments to meet production goals. Strong supervisory and budgeting skills are essential for success in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in predictive/preventative maintenance or equivalent experience in saw filing (as applicable).
• Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
• Knowledge of plant equipment and predictive/preventative maintenance systems.
• Understanding of continuous operation manufacturing and improvement processes.
• Familiarity with safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills for communication and analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong budgeting and financial analysis aptitude.
• Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to implement change and manage conflict.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop the Mechanical Maintenance Department, including training and scheduling.
• Schedule preventive/predictive maintenance across equipment groups.
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards and policies.
• Lead continuous improvement in maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Maintain equipment drawings, vendor manuals, and document filing systems.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet plant objectives and budget.
• Supervise installation of new equipment and manage inventories.
• Provide departmental reports for internal distribution.
