Job summary

Anduril RMS seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a hardware-focused team performing mechanical design and analysis of solid rocket motor components, including motor cases, nozzles, propellant grains, igniters, and safety components. You will lead CAD/FEA work and guide the team through design reviews and risk mitigation.

The role requires strong leadership, industry-standard analysis skills, and the ability to travel to sites, with a Secret Clearance in scope.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar.
Experience with CAD and/or FEA software.
Understanding of hardware manufacturability and GD&T.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to travel 10–25% to other sites or suppliers.
Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead a team to perform CAD design activities and FEA of structural and thermal systems.
Develop and implement the mechanical solution architecture with the Chief Engineer.
Plan tasks and deliverables to meet milestones and ensure quality.
Ensure functional design reviews are conducted and mitigate technical risks.
Generate, review, and release product definition packages (engineering drawings).
Create reports and presentations documenting analyses and supporting work.
Present to peers and customers in design reviews.
Support prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations onsite at facilities and with suppliers.
Own the development of critical subsystems from cradle to grave.
